About the project
The platform was created by the defence in a criminal case. It publishes broadcasts and recordings of hearings, case documents and the lawyers' positions — with a link to the source.
Who created the platform
The Sennychenko Case platform was created with the support of the defence — lawyers, attorneys' associations and people who assist the defence of the accused in this case. This is a platform of the defence: we openly state whose position we represent. It is not a court website and not an official source of court decisions.
This site publishes broadcasts and recordings of court hearings, procedural documents and statements by lawyers. Assessments in the materials are the position of the defence; every factual statement has a reference to a document or a recording timecode.
The platform exists at the expense of the accused, their families and the defence. Information about the owner and responsible persons will be published shortly. Contact: press@sennychenkocase.com.
Editorial principles
Most of these rules are built into the publication system itself: without a source, a signature or a check, a material will not be published.
- Every statement about the case is published only with a source: a document and page, or a hearing and recording timecode. Without a source, the material will not be published.
- The position of the defence, the words of the prosecution and verbatim quotations are always labelled and kept separate. A prosecution claim is quoted verbatim, with a reference to the page.
- Statements are published on behalf of a specific lawyer, with a date. There are no anonymous "proven" claims.
- Every accused person is presumed innocent until his guilt has been proven in accordance with the law and established by a court's guilty verdict. An editorial check is not a court conclusion: the final decision is made by the court.
- Before publication, every material about the case is checked by a second person, not the author.
- We do not publish personal data of third parties, names of witnesses, or information whose dissemination is prohibited by law or by a court. Documents are anonymised before publication.
- If a published material has been corrected, a "Corrected" label with the date and an explanation of what has changed appears next to it.
- Translations are labelled: under a record's title — “Machine translation from Ukrainian — under review.” with a link to the original, in lists — “machine translation”; the label disappears once a person has checked the translation. People's names are transliterated and carry no label. Verbatim quotes are never silently translated — the original is always shown.
- Illustrations are labelled "Illustration" and are not passed off as footage of hearings. Portraits of people are not generated.
How the sources are organised
Documents. The originals are kept closed. Only copies verified by the editorial team are published, marked to show whether they have been depersonalised. Each document has a permanent page that can be linked to; the file itself opens through a temporary link.
Document text for search. If the text was recognised automatically (OCR), search shows the label "recognised text, may contain errors". The original PDF is kept unchanged.
Hearing records. Broadcasts and recordings are from the court's official YouTube channel; the timecode leads to the exact second. The "Live" label appears only when YouTube confirms the broadcast. If the court removes a recording, we publish an archive copy marked to show whose recording it is. The transcript shows statements verbatim; a link to a document includes the page number.
Timeline. Events are arranged by the date on which they occurred, not by the date of publication. The postponement of a hearing is a separate event; earlier entries do not disappear.
Right of reply
If you consider information on the site to be inaccurate, write to us through the "Right of reply" form. After verification, the reply is published alongside the material, with the date and the author. We notify you of the decision no later than 5 working days later. You can also send a request to vidpovid@sennychenkocase.com.
